Our Alumni

Path already traversed the formation of AABHS can only be explained by an allegory. At the advent of life on Earth there was no water though there was no dearth of Hydrogen and Oxygen. It required a massive spark followed by a series of sparks to combine H and O to form H2O (water ). Our illustrious school has been churning out thousands and thousands of students from ages. Their presence is felt in every nook and corner of the world. But there was no force to coalesce them together. Then suddenly there is an explosion of technology like Internet which squeezed the distance almost to no consequences. Lo and behold! !

AABHS is born providing a much needed platform to ex-students to come together with a common goal. After lot of groundwork ultimately our revered Head Master Sri Swapan Roy handed over the official no objection letter for the AABHS. Hence 12th August 2017 is recorded as foundation day. The term ‘Alumni’ is used in conjunction with either a male group of students or a mixed group of students who are engaged in several fields of activities after completion of their schooling or graduation.

We have a very strong alumnus of Basirhat High School that has 144 years of inherited history in the field of learning. It all started with the idea of doing something in return to the root where we all belong to and come from. After remaining in the nestling stage for almost 16 years, everything started moving in the right directions and falling in right places with the right set of people coming around in the spring of 2017.
We have decided to form “Alumni Association Basirhat High School” (AABHS) which is exclusively an Apolitical Organization to carry forward some well thought out students centric programs and services. We are determined and truly on course to make them happen. We came together with the objectives of creating a great fraternity amongst teachers, non teaching staffs, current students and alumni of our beloved school. We do have a good representation of more than 55 years from 1957 SF to 2021 HS batch. We, along with all the teachers, non teaching staffs, School Management Committee and others, wish to uphold the legacy of this great institution. Together we can and we will make big and positive impacts.

Basirhat High School, Our Pride

Passing through a long journey since 1860, Basirhat Municipal School in the district of 24 parganas got the recognition of the Calcutta University on January 24, 1877 under the new name “Basirhat High School”. The first Headmaster of the school was Shri Jogneswar Mondal. The journey that had its onset 144 years ago gradually attained its maturity by virtue of un- numbered learners, teachers and well-wishers who contributed and sanctified the school campus directly and indirectly making the campus buzzing with prospect and prosperity with perfection.

Time passed. The small sapling of 1877 is now a full-fledged tree establishing and occupying a permanent seat of awe and veneration in the mind of the common rank and file in India and abroad. Many a student of this prestigious institution are dissipated and well - established in almost all the corners of the world, glorifying the name of the school more and more to be imitated and inspired by the posterity. This traditional alma mater is providing quality teaching in the streams of Science and Arts. The Commerce department equipped with necessary infrastructure will start as soon as it gets teachers. This school is in proud possession of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer and Language labs which despite enriching the students, require more infrastructural development for the greater interest of the student-aspirants.

Efforts are on towards setting up of a smart and digital classroom. Every year, many a student glorify the name of the school with exceptional results throughout the State in Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations, JEE etc. Besides, going on with the teaching-learning procedures, this prestigious institution has become almost a cynosure of the inculcation of Art and Culture with a view to building up as well as strengthening the aesthetic development of the young learners. Worth mentioning: CCRT (Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India), KVPY, NTSE, NMMS, National Science Olympiad etc. wherein students and teachers from other districts take part enthusiastically.

In the sphere of games and sports, the students of the school have established their names as proficient aspirants both in national and international levels. In the National parade on the Rajpath during the Republic Day Celebrations at New Delhi, the NCC Cadets frequently take glorious part. Our aim and objective is to uphold Basirhat High School to an ideal temple of learning, to groom and enlighten a galaxy of healthy, humble, righteous and wise students who will arrest the appreciation of every one, turning the institution into an icon of education in the true sense of the term

Organizing blood donation camps to support thalassemia, hemophilia, cancer patients and critical care requirements
Initiating awareness about pledge to donate eyes and body organs.

Organizing seminars, debate, lectures and conferences for students, teachers, alumni and general public.

Our History

The deep rooted social bondage along with our past memories of our Alma mater, Basirhat High School pulled us together to form an Alumni Group named “Alumni Association Basirhat High School (AABHS)”. While fulfilling our individual commitments of life we got distanced from each other and now that some of us are blessed to come close to each other again let us fulfill our duties towards our Alma mater and our society as well.

Fraternity is the sweet chord of relationship between people coming out of an institute even at widely different point of life cycle. By birth people inherently like to reminisce their sweet past covering childhood period and also the formative days in schools and or colleges. Because all of us like to listen to “the music in my heart I bore long after it was heard no more”. Small chitchat to fierce fighting amongst ourselves, love and fellow feelings, cohesive boosting for our class or our school, emotional and deep attachments amongst some of us and a general sense of belongingness to a family outside our own family create a deep bonding which we cannot deny. We know that human being is a social animal and each one of us is born with specific social duties including duty towards our parents, duty towards society and duty towards mankind. This deep rooted social bondage along with our past memories of our Alma mater, Basirhat High School pulled us together to form an Alumni Group named “Alumni Association Basirhat High School (AABHS)”.
